Welcome to our guide on how to get to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome! Unfortunately, the stadium is not well served by public transport from the city center, but fear not, we have all the options laid out for you right here.

    Option 1: Taxi or Uber

If you prefer a more direct route, taking a taxi or Uber is feasible. However, be prepared for the possibility of being diverted to the highway north of the stadium during the pre-match period. Want to know more about Rome’s rules around Uber? Click here.

    Option 2: Bus

While many bus lines in the north of the city terminate at Piazza Mancini, which is just over the river from the stadium, not many buses from the city center go there. The 628 and the 82 do stop at the Foro Italico, but be aware that during match times, the buses are overcrowded and the routes may change. Find out how to use Rome’s bus system here.

    Option 3: Tram

Take tram Line 2 from the terminus at Piazzale Flaminio to Piazza Mancini, just over the river from the stadium. You can use a regular transport ticket or pass to ride the tram, or tap a contactless card when you board. Be warned, the tram stop gets extremely crowded before matches!

    Option 4: Metro

The nearest metro stations are Lepanto and Flaminio, both on Line A, but they are about 2 miles south of the stadium. Consider walking or taking the tram from Flaminio, or walking from Ottaviano.

    Option 5: Walking

If you’re feeling up to it, you can walk from the city center or from Lepanto on the other side of the river. It’s about a 30-40 minute walk from Piazza del Popolo, and you can check out the walking routes on the map below:

With these options laid out for you, getting to the Stadio Olimpico for a match has never been easier. Choose the option that suits you best and enjoy the game!
