Once again, Ukraine is in the spotlight as a new massive offensive from Russia has been launched. This morning, the country woke up to a rain of missiles hitting numerous cities, including Chernihiv and Mariupol. Over 40 different locations were targeted causing extensive damage to critical infrastructure, including a pediatric hospital.
Ukrainian President Zelensky, who is expected to visit Poland and later Washington for a NATO summit, reported at least 20 deaths and 66 injuries, with 5 fatalities occurring in the capital, including at the largest pediatric hospital where a child was also injured. While the situation remains dire, efforts are underway to assist the wounded and assess the extent of the damage.
In other news, France recently concluded its legislative elections, with a surprising win for the left-wing coalition, Nouveau Front Populaire. Despite record voter turnout, there is still no clear majority in the National Assembly, leaving room for potential alliances to shape the new government.

Meanwhile, Boeing has reached a settlement with the Department of Justice over the fatal 737 Max crashes that claimed 346 lives. The aerospace giant has agreed to pay a hefty fine of $243.6 million to resolve the investigation, marking the end of a tumultuous chapter for the company.
