Cardinal Secretary of State had a meeting with the Ukrainian Prime Minister. He also met with the President of the National Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk. Both leaders appreciated the visit as a sign of solidarity from the Holy See towards the Ukrainian people who are suffering due to the war.

As announced yesterday by the Secretary of State himself, the fourth day of the visit to Ukraine, today, involved meetings with the country’s top leadership. In Kyiv, Cardinal Parolin met with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the President of the Ukrainian Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
Both the Prime Minister and the President of the Ukrainian Parliament expressed their appreciation to Cardinal Parolin for his presence, signaling the attention given to the country’s situation.
According to government sources, among the topics discussed by Prime Minister Shmyhal with the Secretary of State were the provision of humanitarian assistance and the contribution offered to the process of returning Ukrainian children and prisoners deported to Russia.
Likewise, the President of the Ukrainian Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, as reported by institutional social media, expressed gratitude for the support and solidarity offered by the Holy See to the Ukrainian people through humanitarian aid.
