A Call for Ceasefire in the Middle East
Pope Francis expressed deep concern for the situation in the Middle East, particularly Gaza, where the humanitarian crisis is dire and unsustainable. He called for an immediate ceasefire on all fronts to prevent further suffering and loss of life.
Prayers for Peace in Ukraine, Myanmar, and Sudan
Pope Francis extended his prayers to the war-torn people of Ukraine, Myanmar, and Sudan, where millions have been displaced, and lives have been lost due to conflicts and civil unrest. He urged for the restoration of peace in these nations.
Appeal to End Ethnic Discrimination
In addition, Pope Francis called for a concerted effort to combat ethnic discrimination, particularly against women, in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He emphasized the importance of promoting equality and unity among all individuals, regardless of their background.
As the Holy Father concluded the Audience, he met with a delegation representing the Afghan community in Italy, highlighting his commitment to supporting those affected by conflict and prejudice.
