Exciting News: Termini-Battistini Section of Metro A to Reopen Soon!
Get ready, Rome! The city has officially announced that the Metro A subway line between Termini and Battistini is set to reopen on Monday, 26 August.
After being closed for maintenance works on the railway tracks since 10 August, commuters can finally rejoice and enjoy the convenience of the Metro A once again. During the closure, additional buses were deployed to serve the metro route, ensuring smooth transportation for passengers.
However, maintenance on the Metro A line will continue, with the subway closing early at 21:00 from Sunday to Thursday. Fear not, for on these days, extra buses will be available to cover the route after 21:00. And for those late-night adventurers, the metro will remain open until 01:30 on Friday and Saturday nights.
But that’s not all! While the Termini-Battistini section reopens on 26 August, three stations on the A line are still undergoing renovation works. Ottaviano near the Vatican is scheduled to reopen on 9 September, while Spagna at the Spanish Steps and Furio Camillo will welcome passengers back on 3 October and 7 November respectively.
As if that wasn’t enough, the city’s tram lines are also getting a makeover. With plans for a major redevelopment of the Porta Maggiore tram depot ahead of Vatican’s Jubilee Year 2025, the entire tram network will be replaced by buses from 16 September to 3 November. Once the works are complete, all tram lines will resume normal service in early December.
