Embarking on his journey back to Rome from Singapore, Pope Francis shared insightful remarks with journalists regarding the civilian tragedy in Gaza and the upcoming US elections. He emphasized the importance of conscience in choosing between Harris and Trump, condemned abortion and the mistreatment of migrants, and expressed optimism about the Church’s collaboration with China.

The Holy Father’s reflections on various topics were engaging and thought-provoking. His observations about Singapore’s culture and people, and the inspiring interreligious meeting he attended, shed light on the country’s unique charm. Pope Francis also touched on the importance of fair wages for low-paid migrants, calling attention to societal inequalities.

When questioned about China’s efforts towards peace and the Church’s agreement with the country, the Pope expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in their dialogue. His admiration for China’s rich culture and potential for cooperation underscored a hopeful outlook for the Church’s future.

Addressing contentious issues like abortion and migrant rights in the context of the US elections, Pope Francis did not shy away from condemning actions that go against the sanctity of life and humanity. His firm stance on these moral dilemmas emphasized the need for individuals to make conscientious choices in line with their values.

In a heartfelt response to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the Holy Father reiterated the importance of peace and fraternity. His call for dialogue and reconciliation resonated with a message of hope amidst turmoil, emphasizing the devastating impact of war on innocent lives.

The Pope’s discussions on social issues, environmental concerns, and the need for global cooperation painted a picture of a compassionate leader striving for positive change. His commitment to addressing abuse, promoting dialogue, and advocating for justice reflected a deep sense of empathy and responsibility towards all members of society.

As the journey came to a close, Pope Francis thanked the journalists for their company and encouraged them to continue their courageous work. His parting words carried a sense of optimism and perseverance, urging everyone to press forward in their quest for truth and justice.
