Welcome to St. Joseph’s Institute of Skills Baking Program!
Are you a young woman looking to enhance your baking skills and start your own business from home? St. Joseph’s Institute of Skills has just the program for you!
Our three-month baking training program, in partnership with Vihaan Organization, is specifically designed to empower young women, especially mothers aged 18 to 27. We aim to provide practical skills and employment opportunities to those who may have faced challenges such as unemployment, early school dropout, or the impacts of HIV/AIDS and sexual harassment.
Fr. Deepak Joseph, the director of St. Joseph’s Institute of Skills, emphasized the importance of empowering women through skills training. He stated, “We don’t want to leave behind those who are below 50%, those who may not have the academic qualifications but have the potential to build a better future.”
Since its establishment in 2020-21, St. Joseph’s Institute has trained over 1,100 students, with a focus on marginalized communities. This year, we are enrolling 25 women in our baking program, with plans to expand to other locations in the future.
Not only does our baking program provide practical skills, but it also offers participants the opportunity to utilize their free time productively. We hope to not only help young women support themselves but also give them the confidence to become successful entrepreneurs.
Join us at St. Joseph’s Institute of Skills, located at the St. Joseph’s Educational Institutions campus on Mysore Road, Bengaluru. Founded by Archbishop Peter Machado, our institute serves as a post-COVID initiative to provide vocational opportunities to semi-educated youths and school dropouts from various areas of Bangalore and Karnataka.
Let’s work together to empower young women and create a brighter future for all!
