Good morning, Dear Friends!
Welcome to all the members of the International Movement of Catholic Students Pax Romana, along with your friends and families. I am grateful for your presence today and commend you for your dedication to promoting social justice and human development rooted in your Catholic faith and its vision of a world guided by God’s loving plan.
Reflecting on the Church’s 2018 Synod on Young People, I encouraged the youth to be “protagonists of the revolution of charity and service” (Christus Vivit, 174). Your work in educational settings, workplaces, and communities plays a crucial role in shaping a more compassionate, harmonious, and fraternal world. Whether it’s the leadership training programs in France, Thailand, or Kenya, your commitment to Gospel values and social teachings of the Church empowers young people to address social challenges and bring about meaningful change at the local level.
As we participate in the current Synod on Synodality, I urge you to actively engage in the Church’s synodal journey of “walking together”, listening, and fostering open dialogue. Embrace the upcoming Holy Year 2025 as an opportunity for personal growth and spiritual enrichment. The Holy Door in Rome symbolizes our shared journey towards deeper union with Christ and openness to His transforming grace.
Dear young friends, I hope our meeting today in Rome will reignite your passion to strive for peace, harmony, justice, and mercy, contributing to the expansion of God’s kingdom on earth. Entrusting you to the intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace, and Blessed Giorgio Frassati, I pray for the Lord’s blessings of wisdom, joy, and lasting peace to be upon you all.
