Welcome to Roma Daily News Radio Bulletin, this Saturday afternoon on October 12th, presented to you by our studio host Giuliano Ferrigno. The Lebanese Ministry of Health has reported that 60 people have been killed and 368 injured in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours, as per Al Jazeera. The total death toll in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah over the last year has now reached 2229 and 10380 respectively, according to the Ministry. In a joint statement following the attacks on UNIFIL peacekeepers, Macron, Meloni, and Pedro Sanchez have sent a strong message to the Israeli government, urging a response regarding the recent military actions.
Back in Italy, there is a warning from the State Railways about a potential significant impact on train services due to a national 24-hour strike called by some autonomous union groups starting at 9 PM, possibly leading to partial or total train cancellations. Weather alerts have been issued with an orange alert in Veneto and a yellow alert in Emilia Romagna.
The economy is also facing challenges with a slowdown in GDP growth affecting bank loans, despite a slight drop in mortgage interest rates in September. In a tragic incident, three children were injured in a road accident near Palermo, Sicily, where a Tunisian family was involved in a collision, resulting in fatalities.
