The Sovereign Order of Malta’s Ongoing Support for Ukraine’s Humanitarian Crisis

Collaborating with the Ukrainian Embassy to the Holy See, the Order of Malta recently hosted a conference addressing “The Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine During Wartime and the Order of Malta’s Support,” emphasizing their unwavering commitment to assisting victims of the conflict.
A Diplomatic Milestone
Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Holy See, Andrii Yurash, highlighted the significance of the conference, which marked the 15th anniversary of full diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Holy See. He also expressed gratitude for the Order’s continuous support in Ukraine over the years.
Since the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, the Order of Malta’s humanitarian efforts in Ukraine have grown exponentially, becoming the largest since World War II. The Ambassador praised their aid as vital for the country.

Mohammed El Hajj, the country coordinator for the Order of Malta, stressed the psychological toll of the war on the Ukrainian people, emphasizing the massive need for mental health support.
