Welcome to the European Broadcasting Union General Assembly
Exciting news for all public service radio and TV broadcasters in Europe! The 93rd General Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is just around the corner, set to take place on December 5 at the Millennium Conference Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland.
As a founding member of the EBU, Vatican Radio will be in attendance, represented by Alessandro Gisotti, Deputy Editorial Director of the Dicastery for Communication.
One of the key topics on the agenda is the renewal of the EBU Executive Board, with nine new members set to be elected for the 2025-2026 term. Additionally, delegates will discuss the EBU Compass, a strategic project aimed at protecting the autonomy of public media in challenging political and economic contexts.
But that’s not all! The General Assembly will coincide with the second edition of the AI Summit on December 6. This summit, dedicated to artificial intelligence, will feature over 400 participants from 44 countries and prominent speakers such as Daren Tang, Federico Suria, and Yuval Noah Harari.
The event promises to be a platform for collaboration between traditional media and technological innovations, highlighting the importance of advancing technological progress in the broadcasting sector.
