Pope Francis Prays for Peace and Harmony in Nicaragua
In a heartfelt message, Pope Francis has expressed his solidarity with the Church and people of Nicaragua. He fervently prays to the Virgin Mary, asking her to intercede and open the hearts of all for dialogue that leads to peace, fraternity, and harmony.
On the occasion of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Pope calls upon believers to join him in seeking the Mother and Patroness of Nicaragua’s guidance. He emphasizes the importance of dialogue in the pursuit of peace and unity.
During the Sunday Angelus, Pope Francis specifically mentions the Nicaraguan tradition of celebrating “La Purísima,” a novena dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. He extends his support to the faithful, urging them to find solace in the Heavenly Mother during challenging times.
“May the Heavenly Mother open the hearts of all so that a path of respectful and constructive dialogue is always sought.”
The Pope’s concern for Nicaragua comes amidst recent restrictions imposed by the government on religious organizations and the unjust treatment of clergy members. Despite these challenges, Pope Francis remains committed to advocating for peace and justice in the country.
“I invite you to join me in prayer for the Church and people of Nicaragua who celebrate the Purísima, as Mother and Patroness, and lift to Her a cry of faith and hope.”
