Update on Pope Francis’ Health
As Pope Francis continues his treatment for a respiratory infection in the hospital, the latest update on Sunday evening reveals that his therapy is progressing normally.
According to the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, the Pope had a restful night and his clinical condition remains stable. The medical team is following the prescribed diagnostic and therapeutic process, and the Pope participated in the Eucharist and Holy Mass via television this morning.
Pope Francis was admitted to the Agostino Gemelli Hospital in Rome on Friday due to bronchitis, and after medical tests, his medication has been adjusted with no fever episodes reported.
To aid his recovery, the Pope’s doctors have advised complete rest, leading to the cancellation of the special Jubilee Audience for Artists and the World of Culture. Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonca celebrated Mass on behalf of the Pope on Sunday morning.
Despite his hospitalization, Pope Francis prepared a reflection for the Sunday Angelus, which was released by the Holy See Press Office as per his request.
