“The Pope had a peaceful night.” This was communicated this morning, March 12, by the Holy See Press Office in the update on the Pontiff, who has been hospitalized at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome since February 14.
Last night, regarding the Pope’s clinical condition, the Vatican Press Office explained that doctors confirm slight improvements within a still complex framework. No medical bulletin was released due to the stable condition. Both in the morning and afternoon, Francis participated via video link in the Paul VI Hall in the Spiritual Exercises of the Roman Curia, dedicating time to prayer and meditation as required by the retreat period, and for this reason, he did not receive visitors. He also received the Eucharist.
He continued with the prescribed therapies and maintained high-flow oxygenation using nasal prongs. Additional information from the doctors is expected today, March 12, after they lifted the prognosis on Monday, March 10, still considering the clinical picture complex. The text of the general audience catechesis is not being released today as it is not scheduled due to the Spiritual Exercises.
