The Path to Sainthood: Pope Francis Recognizes Miracles and Heroic Virtues
The Vatican News has recently reported that Pope Francis has recognized a miracle attributed to Eliswa of the Blessed Virgin, the martyrdom of Fr. Nazareno Lanciotti, and the heroic virtues of Antoni Gaudí, Fr. Peter Joseph Triest, Fr. Angelo Bughetti, and Fr. Agostino Cozzolino.
In a meeting with Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, the Pope approved the Decrees regarding these individuals, bringing them one step closer to sainthood.
Antoni Gaudí, “God’s Architect”
Born in 1852, Antoni Gaudí i Cornet took on the monumental task of overseeing the construction of the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona in 1883. He viewed art as a form of worship and considered it his mission to reveal God’s glory and draw people closer to Him.
Tragically, Gaudí passed away on June 10, 1926, after being struck by a tram. Despite not being immediately recognized, thousands attended his funeral, honoring the legacy of “God’s architect.”
