Welcome to Exaudi! Today, we have a special treat as Cardinal Felipe Arizmendi, Bishop Emeritus of San Cristóbal de Las Casas and responsible for the Doctrine of the Faith at the Mexican Episcopal Conference (CEM), shares his weekly article with our readers.
REFLECTIONS
Following the death of Jesus, his apostles and disciples were plunged into despair, fear, and hopelessness. However, the resurrection brought about a profound transformation in their lives. Similarly, as we mourn the passing of Pope Francis, we find solace in knowing that he now rests in eternal joy with God, alongside saints and loved ones.
Pope Francis was a beacon of light, tirelessly serving both the Church and humanity at large. His legacy of compassion, solidarity, and inclusivity will continue to inspire generations. In his final messages, especially during the Easter season, he emphasized the enduring power of Christ’s resurrection and the hope it brings to all.
INSPIRATION
In his Easter homilies, Pope Francis spoke of the transformative power of Christ’s resurrection, urging us to embrace hope and renewal in our lives. He reminded us that in the face of darkness and despair, the light of Christ shines brightly, offering us the courage to move forward with joy and faith.
He emphasized that love conquers hatred, light conquers darkness, and forgiveness triumphs over revenge. Through the resurrection of Jesus, we find hope that transcends all earthly trials and tribulations. Pope Francis’ words serve as a reminder that in Christ, all things are made new.
His message of hope resonates strongly, especially in a world plagued by turmoil and suffering. By placing our trust in God and embracing the resurrection of Jesus, we become heralds of hope and agents of positive change in our communities and beyond.
RESPONSE
As we pray for the soul of Pope Francis, let us also draw inspiration from his unwavering faith in the Risen Christ. Rather than be swayed by external opinions on the future of the Church, let us place our trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit. With Christ as our anchor, we can move forward with confidence and hope.
