Breaking News: Cardinals Gather for Seventh General Congregation

Cardinal Marx, who heads the Council for the Economy, highlighted various challenges and put forth proposals aimed at ensuring the sustainability of economic structures that support the ongoing papal reforms.
Cardinal Schönborn, in his capacity as president of the IOR Oversight Commission, shed light on pertinent issues. Meanwhile, Cardinal Vergez provided updates on the Governorate of Vatican City State, emphasizing the ongoing renovation efforts.
Cardinal Krajewski delved into the activities of the Dicastery for the Service of Charity, underscoring the importance of charitable work within the Church.
In the latter part of the General Congregation, 14 Cardinals took the stage to discuss a range of topics, including the ecclesiology of the people of God, polarization within the Church, synodality, and vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
Throughout the discussions, references were made to key conciliar texts such as Lumen Gentium and Gaudium et Spes. The Cardinals also delved into the crucial aspect of evangelization, emphasizing the need for consistency between actions and teachings.
