World Day of Prayer for Vocations
Today is also recognized as the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, coinciding with the conclusion of the Jubilee pilgrimage of members of bands and popular entertainment. Pope Leo expressed gratitude for their participation, acknowledging how their music and performances added to the celebration of Christ the Good Shepherd.
Helping one another
Pope Leo emphasized the importance of supporting vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, stating that the Church and the community play a vital role in providing acceptance, listening, and encouragement to those on their vocational journey. He echoed Pope Francis’ message, calling on everyone to welcome and accompany young people as they discern their callings, fostering a spirit of service and mutual support.
Do not be afraid!
Directing his message to young people considering vocations, Pope Leo encouraged them not to fear but to embrace the invitation of the Church and of Christ the Lord. He concluded by invoking the intercession of the Virgin Mary, asking for her guidance as we all strive to follow Jesus.
