Pro-life organizations are intensifying their efforts to defund “big abortion” as the reconciliation bill approaches debate in the House Energy and Commerce Committee this week.
Recently, on Wednesday, May 7, digital billboards sponsored by the pro-life organization Live Action illuminated Times Square, calling on passersby to support the defunding of Planned Parenthood.
Since the announcement of the Trump administration’s plan to defund Planned Parenthood in March, pro-life advocates have been collaborating with legislators and encouraging the public to contact their representatives in the hopes of defunding the organization federally by Memorial Day.
With Memorial Day fast approaching, activists are rallying to make this goal a reality.
“While there are numerous reasons why Planned Parenthood should be defunded,” Live Action stated, “the billboard highlighted two key reasons why America’s largest abortion provider should lose the $700 million in federal tax funding it receives annually.”
The messages on Live Action’s billboards emphasized the organization’s provision of cross-sex hormones to minors and its involvement in thousands of abortions each week.
One of the billboards prominently displayed the number “1076.”
