Throughout the month, the Holy Father will make visits to major basilicas in Rome, including a pilgrimage to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls on Tuesday, 20 May, and a Eucharistic Celebration at the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran on Sunday, 25 May.
One of the highlights of the month will be the formal installation of the Pope on the Cathedra Romana during the Mass at the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran. This symbolic gesture signifies the Pope’s role as the Bishop of Rome.
