Pope Leo XIV has lauded an international bioethics summit in Rome for promoting an “authentically human” approach to science, urging researchers to seek truth rooted in the dignity of the human person.
In a statement delivered by Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the pope conveyed his “enthusiastic support” for the 3rd International Bioethics Conference, held on May 30–31 at the Patristicum.
The conference centered around the theme “The Splendor of Truth in Science and Bioethics.”
The pope characterized the event as “an invaluable opportunity to contemplate the ethical ramifications of scientific advancements” and advocated for “cross-disciplinary discussions grounded in the dignity of the human person,” as per the Vatican’s message.
