Pope Leo XIV recently addressed the challenges faced by today’s youth, including “relativism,” “emotional instability,” and “superficiality,” urging for these obstacles to be turned into opportunities for growth.
The pontiff met with the Brothers of the Christian Schools at the Vatican, emphasizing the importance of education as a ministry to guide young people towards fulfilling God’s plan.
In his speech, Pope Leo XIV highlighted the challenges of modern society that impact the youth, such as isolation, individualism, and relativism, calling for educators to equip themselves with new tools and languages to inspire students to overcome these obstacles.
During the meeting, which coincided with the third centenary of the approval of the Brothers of the Christian Schools’ rule and the 75th anniversary of St. John Baptist de La Salle’s proclamation as patron saint of educators by Pius XII, the pontiff acknowledged the potential of young people to achieve great things.
